ECTMIH 2023 equity, diversity and sustainability intern: Matthias Bogerd

We recently caught up with Matthias Bogerd who is finishing a Master's degree in medical humanities at Utrecht University and who has just completed an internship on equity, diversity and sustainability for ECTMIH 2023.

Some key takeaways from Matthias:

The main aims of his ECTMIH2023 internship and how he approached it

The main aim was to develop a diversity, equity and inclusion framework for all aspects of ECTMIH 2023 planning and delivery. so that clear practical commitments could be made. His approach was to focus on things that could be achieved with low effort and high impact, with people and dialogue at the centre all the way through.

The main outputs of his ECTMIH2023 internship and how he would like to see these being used

One of the main outputs was a checklist for equity considerations, that can be used in future ECTMIH editions.

You can see all of Matthias' interview just here - you can also download an infographic summarising the main ideas on sustainability at the bottom of this page.
